Program Description: The Greenville Hospital System/University of South Carolina School of Medicine Med-Peds program is committed to providing our residents with the most balanced and comprehensive medical training available in a friendly, supportive, learning environment. The Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center is a large network of hospitals and medical offices serving the needs of 70% of patients in the upstate region of South Carolina. While the vast majority of the adult and pediatric training experiences occur under one roof at Greenville Memorial and Children’s Hospital, our residents are free to enroll in electives with teaching faculty throughout the health system, including with our Med-Peds hospitalist program in nearby Greer. GHS also serves as the upstate campus for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. We feel strongly that this combination of community-centered care with a strong academic focus will ensure that our trainees are well-prepared to practice clinical medicine and pediatrics in a variety of settings. Our primary missions are to train med-peds residents to become outstanding clinicians, and to develop leaders in primary or specialty care for children and adults. Whether your goals are to pursue hospital medicine, primary care Med-Peds, general academics, or subspecialty fellowship training, our diverse and challenging program will provide you with the skills, experiences, and mentorship necessary to develop a successful and rewarding Med-Peds career.

Musings of a Distractible Mind "Reading this blog you may get the impression that I can’t make up my mind if I am serious or silly. Yet I think we all need a portion of both in our lives. I do my best to keep the balance and hope you enjoy the experience."
Stories in Medicine I am a physician practicing Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. This blog chronicles my life first as a medical student, then as a resident. It is about stories of medicine. If you think 'Scrubs' or 'Grey's Anatomy' tells the stories of a resident's life, then here is what it is really like (for one resident, anyway).
